About Dr Russell Pearson:


Dr Russell Pearson is a general practitioner in NSW, Australia and a senior lecturer at the University of Wollongong’s Graduate School of Medicine.


Despite his medical background his chief academic interest is in military history, especially Australia’s involvement in the First and Second World Wars.

As the doctor caring for veterans of both conflicts he has been privy to many first hand accounts of what took place, which has informed his reading.

He is a member of the Military History Society of Australia.

Last year Russell visited ANZAC Cove and found it an inspiring and fulfilling experience.

He is excited and enthusiastic about the opportunity to return to share with this year’s visitors insights into the historical background of the campaign, and so add value and interest to their time at Gallipoli.
